Shorewood Real Estate, Shorewood CondosShorewood real estate is quite popular partly because it is an extremely charming community. Since most of its housing stock was built before World War II, many of the homes in the area are graced with the craftsmanship identified with the pre-War era. There are many grand estates in Shorewood. There are also many charming bungalows and duplexes. Almost all of the prices for Shorewood real estate range from $200,000 to $2 million. There is a wide selection of single and two family homes as well as condominiums. Shorewood was once known as the Town of East Milwaukee. In 1917, it was officially named Shorewood. One of the Village's greatest resources is Lake Michigan which borders it on the east. On the south and west, it is bordered by the City of Milwaukee and Whitefish Bay is on its northern border. One of the features that makes Shorewood desirable is that fact that it is a sidewalk community. Here, kids walk to school and all of the locals walk to the ice cream shop and lakefront. The US Census Bureau tallied Shorewood, WI's population at 13,763 in 2000.
